My Favorites
Music: Linkin Park is my all-time favorite band. 2009 is the year I'll finally be getting my LP tribute tattoo, I can't wait! I am not a music snob at all so my favorites vary from The Fray to NIN. I dig Kanye West, Fergie, Ne-yo, Chris Brown, Timbaland and Justin Timberlake. I get mellow with Snow Patrol, Bright Eyes, and Band of Horses. I can't get the lyrics of OneRepublic, Blue October or Alanis Morissette outta my head. The only thing I really do not listen to is country music. TV Shows: Lost, Grey's Anatomy, Fringe, Lie to Me, House, The Closer, Monk, Psych, The Ultimate Fighter, Survivor, CSI, True Blood, Dexter, and my guilty pleasure is American Idol. I also enjoy watching Spongebob, iCarly, Drake & Josh, and Courage the Cowardly Dog with my daughter. Movies: My favorite all-time movie in any genre is It's a Wonderful Life. My favorite horror movie is Halloween (1978). I'm a huge horror fanatic and zombie flicks are my fav. One of my top picks for zombie flicks is an episode of Fear Itself called New Year's Day. I also love Indie films, comedies and crime thrillers to name just a few. 11:14, Brick, Manic, Mysterious Skin, Lucky Number Slevin, Sin City, Pulp Fiction, High Tension, Hostel, Wolf Creek, REC, The Happening, The Strangers, Pineapple Express...I could literally go on for days lol. Books: Again, I could go on and on and on. The book I read and reread every year is The Eyes of the Dragon by Stephen King. He's my favorite author. I also devoured the Harry Potter series. I read The Lord of the Rings trilogy once a year. I buy Laurell K. Hamilton's Merry Gentry series the day the books are released. The same with Jim Butcher's The Harry Dresden Files. Most recently I discovered the Southern Vampire series by Charlaine Harris, upon which the HBO series True Blood is based. Quotes: My favorite movie quote is from Juno, "Look, in my opinion the best thing you can do is find a person who loves you for exactly what you are. Good mood, bad mood, ugly, pretty, handsome, what-have-you. The right person is still going to think the sun shines out of your a**. That’s the kind of person that’s worth sticking with." My favorite motivational quote (at the moment) is "Worrying about something that may never happen is like paying interest on money you may never borrow." More About Me: I write, I teach, I parent, I laugh, I earn money, I care for pets, I clean house, I laugh, I tend to the yard, I fight for animal rights, I read, I watch movies, I laugh, I conserve resources, I recycle, I don't eat meat, I stare up at the stars on a clear night, I hope...I enjoy and cherish all of these activities but they do not define who I am nor would any words written in this little box. All of these things give insight into my personality and to who I am as an individual. I am more than the sum of my parts. -
