Great Cow Spirit in the sky...the warriors are fighting amongst themselves again. The Akicita can no longer hold back the younger warriors.

I am afraid all the grass will be eaten. Please pray our tracks will not lead our internet village into different directions.

Also please pray Erma the Cowgirl will let me kiss her...

I don't know. I think if he would have been allowed to choose Lieberman as his running mate, he would have won that puppy.
I could not disagree more. His days are even likely numbered in Connecticut. Changing parties puts you in no man's land for awhile & I cannot see how that would have worked out well.

I don't see any way that McCain could have beaten Obama but I also think that he would have lost to Hilary had she opposed him. The combination of Obama's popularity & lack thereof for the Repub party made it impossible for a repub victory IMO.

Yes, Ost Front, WW2 and a little Vietnam. How did you tell, was it my Vietnam red dust vocabulary or my Solzhenitzen Siberian labor camp langauge?
Cool! Not sure why I had a hunch, but I think I can rule out the Solzhenitzen Siberian camp language giveaway

My main interests are WWI aviation and the American Civil War.

For me personally ... McCain had a very big problem with the presidential race ... Not only is he old, but he looks several years older. He doesn't appear to have energy one would need. Watching his various debates with Obama was boring ... McCain had much better responses than Obama, Obama may have given vague answers in response to McCains's crisp answers ... But dang, Obama looked presidential.

McCain's only chance at winning was to get someone that could draw a large crowd. Palin was able to do that for him. Were there other candidates who may have been able to catch his 'hail mary' pass better? Possibly.

I think that Sarah Palin was able to draw large crowds and that a lot of people supported her and liked her for being "one of them". I was not one of these people. But ultimately I think that her lack of political sense and knowledge probably hurt him more than helped him, not to mention that as soon as she could she stabbed him and his staff in the back. Palin might have appealed to a certain type of person, but I would hope the politically astute was not fooled by her cute little twang.

I absolutely agree with your assessment of Sarah Palin's career jcd, and her lack of knowledge, toughness, and intellect in the face of adversity. She should have never been put in the race. I watched the debate with Biden and I was embarrassed for her, and I really wanted to like her. It's unfortunate that it is so easy to be fooled by rhetoric and looking cute in a suit y'all!
