I could believe that, except that most of the sourcing was from Republicans who will no longer cooperate with her nor work with her; either ones in Alaska or former McCain staffers.
Granted, I only read the first two pages ... But the only negative 'sourcing' was from 'a close friend of McCain' ... The 'sourcing' with names attached appeared to be neutral in tone. I'd attach similar weight to an opinion from Hannity (roughly 0).

If "intelligence" as it is being defined here were the answer to all of our problems then something is amiss...D.C is swimming with College dgrees of every description, same in business and finance..."the best and the brightest" we have been told for decades are at the helm steering us to a bright future....yeah well...like i said, something is wrong or perhaps intelligence is not exatly what we think it is and character is not the exclusive property of Harvard,Yale or any of the other so called institutions of "higher learning"...just because you know all the words, their origins, are skilled in the art of semantics and spell them correctly doesn't mean you are telling the truth or have any thing of value to say or anything to impart in the way of wisdom.
I don't disagree with anything you said here. If intelligence and impressive resumes were all it took to ensure the success of our country, we wouldn't be in the mess we are today.

I also think that character is a vastly more valuable trait than intelligence. If I had to choose between a moderately intelligent person with a strong character and a brilliant person who was also a sleazebag, I would go with the person of moderate intelligence everday of the week and twice on Sundays.

Definitely; I'd agree here as well.

I watched the Palin/Biden debate hoping to like Sarah Palin because I would like to see genuine intelligent women in politics. Unfortunately, I felt she looked like a fool and caught myself actually covering my face because I was embarassed for her. she mis-referenced almost everything except oil(which she's familier with) and fell back on her home-spun/look at me I'm so cute/ beer drinking hockey mom persona instead of debating anything of consequence. Biden looked amused, I was appalled. The bad part of it was the coverage on it was positive, "Palin really carried her own" etc. REALLY!!! Is that all it takes to fool the American public a few little twangy "I'm one of you awe shucks" comments and complete irreverance to the issues or even the heads of states of countries she was discussing?! I found her to be a step back for women in politics and I hope she never shows her face in the public politics arena again because personally I think women like that give women a bad name.

Politics is full of fools,if you don't prefer one there are always others to choose from, when people use the word"intelligence" they often mean hearing what they want to hear in the manner and style in which they want to hear it..."aw shucks" has worked for other politicians why not Palin. The politicians have the American people's number, they know exactly how to manipulate them to the best advantage, they know what to wear and where and when to wear it....they know what to say and where and how to say it,and who to say it to....preferring one politician to another is like buying a can of peanuts and reaching into the can and picking one to be your special friend.

OK, I am going to threadjack here, since we now have 2 Palin threads.

What about some other politicians that have been in the news lately? What, in your opinion, should Gov. Sanford do? Resign or stay? And, same question re: Sen. Ensign?

Just read a little on Ensign. What is the big deal there? Why should he resign? He had an affair, he/his family gave his mistress money, and now she wants more because of the "trauma" she has endured......Sorry, but it takes two to tango and not to mention, nothing of what he has done is illegal, perhaps immoral, but definitely not illegal. Adultery is not illegal, s e x is not illegal and giving people money is not illegal. And his wife made a public statement saying that they have reconciled.

I would not resign if I were him. Let the voters decide.
