Paranormal Activity (2009) | Official Movie Site & Trailer

This guy just opened to a very minuscule amount of theaters and screens this weekend. It is being seen as the next Blair Witch (in terms of profit) and one of the scarier films you will ever see. B-D, a source I have a lot of faith in, said that it needs to be seen in a theater.

If you have seen it, tell us what you think. If you haven't seen it-whether you want to or don't want to-go and Demand It (follow the link above). Because to Demand It is free, and you are helping out horror fans. Hopefully it will gain momentum and get a wide release.

Check out the trailer.

OVER ONE MILLION FANS DEMAND PARANORMAL ACTIVITY

Hit Film Gets Nationwide Expansion After Unprecedented Demands

HOLLYWOOD, CA (October 9, 2009) – Following 2-weeks of nationwide midnight only sellouts and fan frenzy over the limited release hit thriller PARANORMAL ACTIVITY, moviegoers everywhere have been heard!

Over 1,000,000 people from around the country demanded the film play in their city by logging on to ParanormalMovie.com. In response, Paramount Pictures will release the film nationwide beginning Friday, October 16th.

Tickets for the movie will be on sale via ParanormalMovie.com by 5pm PST on Tuesday, October 13th. Those who have ‘demanded it’ will get the first alert when tickets go on sale.

“From the very beginning, we put this film in the hands of the fans and we trusted them to tell us where and when it should be seen. We couldn’t be more thrilled by their overwhelming support and we are happy to release the film in every town - big and small,” said Rob Moore, Vice Chairman of Paramount Pictures.

The movie Roger Ebert of The Chicago Sun-Times called “an ingenious horror film. It’s so well made it’s truly scary” is currently garnering 90% on RottenTomatoes.com.

To find show times and to buy tickets in your area, visit ParanormalMovie.com

Hi. It was stupidly boring. I wish I had read the reviews from the more intelligent, true scientist type reviews, before wasting my money.

With that said, those in the audience were pretty split about it: the teens and twenty-somethings (and those who are fearful to begin with?) were scared, though they laughed too. The rest of the group wanted their money back.

If you are expecting anything concrete, then watch the good cable shows on this topic. If you want a good scary movie, see The Descent.

Peace.

I found it to be generally interesting and quite effective given its self-imposed limitations. But it also had a number of the logic problems typical of the genre, and one other technical logic problem I can't explain without spoilers.

Those who like this type of veritas horror, though, should definitely check out the Spanish movie "[REC]." Very, very good.

I liked it and it scared the crap out of me. I don't like scary movies that base themselves totally on gore. I deal with blood and guts at work and that's just not scary to me. But, wondering WTH is coming up the stairs... yeah, that's scary. It also helps if you think that stuff truly exists, which I do. You just have to go and let yourself enjoy it... come on I know you can do it

P.S. Good pick on The Descent. One of my fav. scary movies!
