Well, what the hell do they expect, when you have policies in place that are not favorable to the operations of business?...
way off topic, but i have to respond.

"they" all talk out here about how boeing has a problem and they will regret putting the new 787 plant in SC. and blah, blah, blah. what they fail to realize is that boeing does not have a problem.

the machinists have a problem. everett has a problem. washington state has a problem.

boeing is going to go on and continue to be profitable and successful and most definitely does not have a problem.

I should look closer, sounds like you are in Washington too, Rix. Still wish I knew how GIS and Abjon are doing. You made me think of them since they are from Washington as well.

As to the topic, if churches have as much right to post signs, then this group should have the right.

As to whether or not it is okay to talk to kids about Santa,.... I think that a lot of kids have believed in Santa as a child and grew out of the mythical while still holding on to faith. For me though, I always made sure that my children recognized Santa as a spirit of giving by helping them learn about giving. As well, we played the game in our house so that as my daughter grew older she could say to me, "Mom, I know Santa isn't really but can you not tell me he isn't. I still like to play the game."

Back to the OP....
My first thought is "How Sad !", but it never ceases to amaze me how many atheists are so intent on "converting" others to their beliefs. If they don't want to believe in God, why do they care if anyone else does? Me thinks they dost protest too much! Do they think if they can just convince enough people that there is no God then by popular majority God will just "Go Away" ???

As for Santa - I don't have kids so maybe I am missing something, but I've never understood the effort people go to in order to convince children that Santa is real. For me - Santa was always just another wonderfully fun game of pretend. Even though I never believed Santa was going to show up - Christmas was still quite magical. Perhaps even more fun as I knew exactly where those toys under the tree magically appeared from so I learned a new Christmas sport involving "unintentional" strategic placement and positioning of a well marked Sears Toy catalog.

Would have to agree with you that "aggressive atheists" often seem just as dogmatic as the stuff they're complaining about!

Of course the same thing could be said for "Evangelicals"... why are they so intent on everyone else believing the same thing they do? "Me thinks they doth protest too much!"

i have yet to see the ads but did hear of them this afternoon on a radio call-in show.

comments? thoughts?
We would never see something like this advertised in Australia. The public would have a pink fit. So - I'm a little confused - if you have complete separation of church and state and also the right to free speech, are any religious groups (whether Christian or Hindu or whichever) allowed to advertise in this manner as well?

Absolutely. We have quite a few of them here in Vegas. You can drive down the freeway and see signs that just says "God" or "Elohim" right next to others advertising strip clubs.

Wow - how fascinating. I'm trying to picture being out and about and seeing religious or anti/non-religious advertising!

So - unless I am extremely obtuse - I am completely missing the point of a fictional character espousing there is no God. Did the advertising group believe it would have more pull on the public, or something?
