It was mentioned on one of the threads that there were no statics on Eharmony on the dating statics of people on the site. It would clearly be not exactly scinetific, but could be fun. For my stats class I need to collect a 50 data Module to manipulate in multiple ways. If 50 were interested ane willing to contribute this is what I was thinking.................


I need 50 people to tell how many dates they went on in the last 12 months(?). As many of you are more familar and experienced at Eharmony, I am more then open to opinions of the parameters of the study. If it should be longer or shorter duration. Or in fact if there is some other topic that is more fun to measure. I will have to come up with something in the next 10 days or so if this isn't something anyone wants to do, that's fine too. Just might be interesting. I would post the results as I generate them for all to see.


Anyway, any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!

1355 closed matches , 39 made it to open communication. One date. 1 in communication currently. 2 have not yet closed me out.

382 matches, got to OC with 8, 3 dates (one of them lasting on 30 minutes). Still dating the third.

Don't know if my data will help as I have only been a member since the tail end of June. Matching has been off about half the time also. but here's my stats.


Closed 151 three of those made it to OC. In that group of three there was one date and one that we talked on the phone.


Open 18, there isone OC there also. Makes for 4 total OC's. haven't added up how many responded to the first questions but while not all the percentage is high.

I was on eH from mid Feb 08 and had two dates out of 150 matches, 2 closed me out. And I am still dating one of the 2 dates and I actually think he is the one!!!


I am 45, married once, got engaged a few times, and ended a 4 years relationship with a man 15 years to my junor. I have always been actively dating, but eHaromony works for me thus far. I was getting 5 matches a day on average and got at least 80% of the matches contacting me.


However, I think the stats varies based on the person. Some will contact anyone, some may contact based on some specifics, so, I think the stats collection need to be in different categories such as how long the user has been on eHarmony, if a first timer or not...just my opinion.

675 closed matches. Lord knows how many were fakes/scammers (you need to adjust for that). I closed most of them. I don't date someone just because he shows an interest in me. On the other hand, very few of my matches interest me-I'm kind of picky. I've had about 10 dates. I'm 'in negotiation' with 2 men, both of whom I met outside of EH.
