So, I've never started a topic, but here I am awake on a Saturday morning at 6, unable to sleep. So I thought I'd ask, I'm about to turn 27 in a week, and my birthday falls on a Friday. I don't have anyone (friends, family or the other) to go out with...so does anyone have any suggestions of what to do on a birthday spent alone. I don't feel like just going to my usually haunts, although I could. I'd like an idea that seems a little special, because my last few birthdays have kind of been ug. I was intially dumped on my birthday last year...even though we got back together a few weeks later....that should have been a sign it wouldn't work out right? (No tears this year) The year before I had just moved to a new state and spent my birthday eating chinese take out alone in a house with two other renters who didn't even know it was my birthday or care...(we didn't really get along)
Looking for ideas...it will be a Friday and a pay day..

Let's see, there are tons of things for you to do and try, even with no friends , family around. I see you live in Florida - I'm sure Florida has lots to do. Why not pamper yourself and have a spa, make the day your retreat. If you like to dance, sign up for dance classes and join the dance parties the salon has to offer. You'll meet lots of people there. If you're not into dancing, go to an exhibit. Hope these help with future ideas.

Thanks Followmesky for the ideas, but I'm really just looking for something to do that night afterwork. I live in a kind of rural area and if I am going to go any where other than the local bar or two, I'm going to be driving out 45 min. to an hour each way. The spa idea is nice, but I think I'll save that for another time when I have a day to put towards it, I also think that might be a bit pricey.

I understand but look at it this way, a drive is a drive but you're birthday is only once a year!

The spa thing can be pricey, but it is your birthday. You should be able to do something you enjoy if you have the money. For me, I just went to dinner with my younger sister haha. My birthday comes up again in January. I was thinking of flying out to vegas. However, I live close to vegas. Maybe a drive to an art museum or something. I am not sure what you like, but if you have the money to spend then spend it.

Thanks for your help. I did find something now. A co-worker has a friend coming to visit, so we are going to all go out to a country club for chilling and drinks.

I don't suppose anyone has ideas for a guy turning 23 =P

Celebrated my past 5 or so by eating pie. Keylime, apple, pumpkin... mmm... but I thought I might try something different for once. Toying with the idea of *making* the pie I eat instead of just buying. =D

Man this post must make me sound fat.
