I have trouble accepting the fact that I should resort to a dating site being as young as I am. But I also know that I may not meet another person in the real world who is on the same level as I am. I'm far more mature than most people I know in my age range. And of all places to work at I work at Hooters. The one place you can loose respect for women altogether. Anyways, before I rant on about myself, I just want to post something and see what comes up. Gradually growing depressed from the world around me.

I feel your pain; when I joined E-H I was unhappy that I had to 'resort to a dating site' too. I too am very mature for my age and over the course of the 8 monthsI have been on here i have had hits and misses. The young lady I am in a relationship right now makes the wait worthwhile.

do not feel pathetic. i'm 27 and i'm an old soul, i dont even have friends my age because we would have nothing in common to talk about. i joined EH because i want to find someone who's looking for the same thing as me and youre not gonna find that by going to a club one night so dont look at this as a 'last resort', approach it with positivity and know that the people you meet will be on your level.

I guarantee that there are a huge amount of men & women using online dating in the Tampa area. The stigma weny away years ago so you need not have any issues. Don't be insecure about it.

Yeah online dating really used to be something taboo. Now it's much more mainstream. I don't even think it's something to feel bad about.

I have thought about this several times, I am 21, I should be out picking up chicks in bars. But I am not and over a year ago I started with the dating website world with Match.com, I had success and dated a woman for nearly a year. I think it is a good tool for those of us that are not the bar types but even if we are it is still a good supplement.

Bottom line, no need to feel lame and welcome to eHa.

Personally, I'm over the college bar scene, and we are a generation who was brought up with computers and the internet why shouldn't we be finding dates here too?

Honestly, I felt the same way when I joined a couple of months ago. I just don't seem to click with anyone I meet in my normal setting. Now I don't really see it as being pathetic, but rather another way of meeting some really interesting people. I'm confident that I've increased my chances of finding someone with the click-factor 10-fold. Good luck to you!

Ha, you won't care how pathetic it seems if you meet someone worth your while(which really, really does happen), even though you might have to lie to everyone you know about how you met. :-)

And heck, I love bars, but nobody there walks around tattooed with the kind of stuff they willingly post on dating sites.
