One problem I've had here at EH, or should I call it a problem, is how to deal with getting many requests for communication in a short period of time. Many of the people sending me requests seem like good "catches", but I don't want to be overwhelmed or start dating 10 of them at once alnd lead them all on. How do I date many at once but not turn them off when I don't respond w/in a short period of time?

Congratulations on getting a good response. There are some people here the struggle to get matches let alone communication.

Just because they requested communication doesn't mean that you are dating that person. Reply to as many as you are comfortable with replying to. There are a lot of people that communicate with multiple matches at once. You'll see that some people will just randomly vanish for no particular reason.

It can be a little overwhelming at first, but you'll get used to it and get your feel for how things work.

If you are getting too many matches that are communicating at once then you should probably turn off matching for a bit until you get caught up.

Also many of your matches are likely to quit communicating with you some where during the process or you may find that they are not as good a match as you first thought and decide to close them.

As for dating multiple people at once you will probably only have a first or maybe a second date with most of your matches that reach the meeting stage.

"Requests" are just what they are..."requests"...so I wouldn't kevetch too much. You have to get through the GC, MH/CS, and then if it all works out, you get to OC...where so-called "good catches" often wind up in cyberspace Never-Never Land.

When I received several "requests" at one time, I turned off matching to get caught up (as one poster stated)...then turned it back on later.

Trust me..there is an often cumbersome weeding process you need to get through before you can even begin to think about deleting mere "requests"!

Happy Hunting!
