Islamic wisdom?

Psh, Mark Twain beat them to it..."It is better to keep your mouth shut and let everyone think you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt."

Jacquesne

P.S. Before you say it, you're wrong, because Mark Twain is older than Islam. I win!

I think you'd better check your timelines again my friend (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muhammad , Mark Twain - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) But I do like the quote Fortunately to be wrong doesn't quite make a person a fool....to not learn from your mistakes...well...some of us are quick learners and some not so much

/facepalm PR_Princess. That was supposed to be a joke, like saying America is older than England so favor is spelled without a 'u' after the 'o'.

It doesn't matter, though, because Chuck Norris is older than both of them...he was the fourth wise man and gave Jesus the gift of "beard." And all history after that point revolves around Chuck anyway.

Duh.

There was only one man who ever outsmarted Chuck Norris and that was Stephen Hawking.

And look what happened to him.

Sorry. I'll try not to hijack the thread with Chuck's awesomeness. After all, there are many people out there who wear Superman underwear. Superman wears Chuck Norris underwear. Keep that in mind!

I spent 20 years (actually 19 years, 362 days) with someone who could never admit to being wrong, and I foolishly gave in, every time, to keep the peace. Her record for a harangue was 9 hours and 45 minutes straight, and I stood there and listened to it, because I thought I had to be "supportive". While she was often right, she also sometimes took a ridiculous position., but she would go into a fury if she even thought I was disagreeing with her. I learned a hard lesson, and I will never again be that "supportive". Instead, if I have a legitimate position, I will defend it with logic and reason, and I will not be blackmailed with the tears or the threats of divorce which began within a month of our wedding. Never sell your soul like that. Love is both too important and not important enough to sell your soul for. My wife finally became a relentless bully, and I finally tole HER that we were getting a divorce. Now that we're apart, I am happier than I ever could have been with her.

It is not a question of who is right or wrong, it is one of power. I dated a woman with whom everything was great. However, she always had to be right; she had all the answers. She had to be in control. You can love someone but not be able to live with her/him. I can compromise; I can say she is right; but, I am not a doormat who is always wrong. Two or three times I tried to convay this by asking if I was ever right. Things didn't change and I broke up a relationship that was heading directly to marriage. There are two equal people in a relationship. When one assumes all the power, the relationship, in the long run, is doomed.

Any woman who holds to that philosophy is really immature and will either destroy any relationship she's in, or end up with a complete milquetoast. Of course, she may be happy with the milquetoast.

The more a woman suggests that "women are always right in relationships" the more it's evident that she's clueless and usually wrong.

Now, *I'm* right most of the time, but the last thing I want is a man who agrees with everything I say, because that is awfully boring. I don't need to bring someone along to my point of view. I'm usually happy to agree to disagree.

I love to disagree with Tweet. Some of our most hilarious conversations are when we take opposing stands on an issue.

Be very weary of narcissists and control freaks. They make the worst mates. You will be walking on their egg shells forever wondering if you've said the right thing, which is to agree with them completely. They are always right, no matter how wrong they are.
