Every so often I conduct groups. Today, one of the participants asked if I could give a key to his friend when she comes ( I lock the door at the beginning of group). I agreed. Because I get some latecomers I asked him to give me a description so I would no who to give it to. He describe her as,"... overweight woman, with a short haircut." Several people came by that I had to turn away. And as I was about to tell this lady I was not letting anyone in he says , "That's her." Every single woman in the class, almost in unison said, "She's overweight?" The guy says later on, "Yeah, she is overweight to me. I wouldn't prefer to date someone her size.
I would describe this woman has being at a size 8, 10 at the most.
I'm very curious to know when you feel a person, male or female, is overweight to you.

4 ft tall and size 10 is probably overweight in my book.

your participant sounds an unusual guy. his viewpoint is pretty weird.

At 5'8" and 210lbs, my general rule is that if I feel like she's "bigger" than me, I won't be attracted to her.

On the other side of that coin, I'm generally not attracted to women who are significantly smaller than I am either ...very short (< 5') and very thin (90lbs soaking wet).

I am awful at judging this. All I can say is I know it when I see it.

I was dating a guy who was 6'2" around 250. I was trying to describe my brother who is way overweight. I said my god I worry about my brother he is like 250. My date goes hey there! I was confused for a few minutes and then asked, you know my brother is my height? 5'8" and 250 is massive.

I'm sure this will sound bad, but if anyone has a question if someone else is overweight just ask a child or a teenager. I feel at 5 foot my 160 is huge and am trying to lose weight. Yet my 16 year old and her friends all tell me I'm not and then give examples of who they think is overweight and I must agree I'm not as large as the people they point out. Me on the other hand the look and weight goes with the person. The guys I've been attracted to has been 6 foot 150lbs and perfect for him, but I also liked a 5' 5" 175 lb and he looked great too. Now my idea of overweight is morbidly obease. Someone has to atleast try to take care of themselves. I will never be 95lbs but I'm hoping 125 to 130 ends up looking good to me and my future partner.

Same here. But every week we get a new thread on weight that goes on for 20+ pages. Hmmm.

I have no visual as to what size 8 or 10 means. And I think that you could be 5'0" and a size 8 and 6'0" and a size 8 and be vastly different build.

Give me feet, inches and pounds (or if you want to do it in cm and kg I have a calculator).

I think that at 6'2" and 250 lbs that your guy is not exactly svelte.

It's not overweight either. It depends on your muscle mass and where you carry your weight. How your clothes hang and etc. I am at least 25 pounds heavier than I really ought to be, but people are usually surprised to discover that.
