For many of us, we have had high school reunions, from 10, 20, 30 and oh boy, perhaps some 40 years ago!..but the question is..........we all had our heart throbs in high school, some were our old boyfriend/girlfriend, some were guys/gals we just dreamed of and idolized! What would you do if you went to your high school reunion and you met him/her again, and all the same sparks were flying in technicolor!! And he/she actually made a pass at you! Would you rekindle the past? Would you try to get a date out of it? or would you just move on.. and figure it was just the thrill of the moment that made you feel that way?

I went to my 10 year reunion (about 4 years ago) and got together with a guy I had been on one date with previously.

He was kind of nerd in high school. Not a dork, really. He was funny and popular but he was....well....huge glasses, shaggy hair, no fashion sense, bad skin....skinny.

He became a fire fighter and got into good shape, had lasik...was suprisingly attractive...with the added benefit of still being nice and funny.

But still ....not the best conversationalist, too much of a project for me in the end, but I still consider him a friend and one of my better choices

I was in grad school at the time we were dating after the reunion (about 6 months) and he was a fireman so we had a lot of extra pressures to deal with.

We'll see what happens at the 20th, as a bunch of people will probably be divorced and available ...lol.

I attended my 45 last year of my 4 year high school. As I matured, my preferences changed. So did my mad crushes. There were half years, so there were 8 separate classes during any one semester.
I had 3 crushes during the two halves of freshman year, I was immature and fickle. Here's what happened:

One guy: Incompatible religion, and incompatible in general, apparently. Turned out was in and out of marriages.

Another guy: Dead.

Another guy (as well as several other guys I wasn't crazy over, but other girls were): Gay. Of course, no one knew back then.

Another guy: Went missing. No one has heard from him in years.

Another guy: Married. The only one who dated me, but after graduation. My mother didn't like him, I was scared of what I felt, so I didn't let him know how much I liked him and didn't encourage him to keep dating me. Very successful, but I realize now the person I married was not only also very successful but also much more compatible.

Last guy: Very married.

There may have been one or two others, but I don't remember any others.

Oh, well, there's still eH (yeah, right), as well as our #50 only 4 years from now. I may attend the #50 of the year before me. I had friends in those two half years, and it isn't as far in the future. Stay tuned...

This possible scenario is the implicit reason I've avoided participating in each and every high school reunion.

Sometime during my mid-20s my First (all the ladies know what that means!) from my senior year looked me up. I was already married at the time. I felt absolutely nothing for him; almost as if we had never been...It was a disappointment to be disillusioned that way.

I moved away and never went to any of my reunions. I did attend a 35th reunion with my second husband. That was a hoot! He was eight years older than me, and they played all the old late 50s-early 60s Rock 'n' Roll!

I've never have been to any of my high school reunions, but then I went to an all boys high school. So no heart throbs there. I did make it to a grade school reunion two years ago. It was one that covered class years from 1959 to 1964. And as always, as been my luck, I went with my sister and her best friend. Their husbands weren't interested in going. All I'll say is that the years hadn't been kind to most of the women and the guys in my class. I had this crush, from a very far distance, on this angelic blond. She was there, once somebody pointed here out to me, I could still recognize her, but her looks had a hard edge to them, besides she was married. Now the two women who did attract my eye were in my sister's class, but in grade school and high school they were the pesky younger sisters of friends who always wanted to tag along when we went to dances and parties. Two years ago I wasn't in the position to date. My sister has lunch with them every month or so. I guess I should ask her if either of them are married.

I only had one date in high school when I was a senior and she was a junior so I would not be seeing her at a reunion. All the girls in my class were way out of my league so the only "heart throbs" were fantasies. When I went to my 30th reunion there were some girls that were hot in high school and were still hot. And they were now single and were at the reunion without dates as was I but never hooked up with any of them as they are still out of my league.
