Men, Is The Dating 'Sweet Spot' Real?

Maybe you've heard about the dating "sweet spot". Is it a myth? Is it real?

This month Adam Sachs writes a feature for GQ Magazine about the "sweet spot". This is the supposed time in a man's life (from his late 30's til mid 40's) when he can acceptably date the widest age range of women -- from the 23-year-old grad school student to the 57-year-old CEO.

Clearly not every woman or man wants to date someone 10, 15 or 20 years his/her junior or senior, but there are certainly men who enjoy having the options. We thought we'd get your opinions on the mythical sweet spot.

  • Men, is it real? If you're in the sweet spot, do you notice? And do you value having the opportunity to explore a relationship with such a wide range of potential partners?

  • If you're a woman who's younger than 30, can you see the value in a relationship with a man who may be 15 or 20 years older than you? (Let's assume you're physically attracted to him. Think George Clooney.)

  • If you're a woman who's older than 50, would you be interested in dating a man who is 10 or 15 years younger?

  • Women, does the sweet spot even matter? Or do you think all 44-year-old men are looking for 25-year-old women?

Let's hear what you think about the age range issue!
